Rising to the Challenge: Automating 4 Extraction Methods in Record Time — 2 Down, 2 to Go!
Recently, we took on the challenge of helping Complete Environmental Testing automate the extraction for a diverse range of methods, including EPA Methods 525.3, 608.3, 625, Diesel Range Organics (DRO) and Extractable Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (ETPH). This initiative marks an important step in CET's journey towards more efficient and safer extraction processes.
Both the CET and PromoChrom teams rose to the occasion, successfully demonstrating good recoveries for EPA Methods 525.3 and 608.3 within just one week using the Presto accelerated SPE system and our SPE Mini-disks. We are impressed by CET's ability to independently optimize the results, especially pertaining to processes downstream of SPE. It was a great experience working closely with their team of experts and exchanging quick feedback.
By transitioning from traditional Liquid-Liquid Extraction (LLE) to Solid Phase Extraction (SPE), CET aims to reduce their exposure to harmful solvents while automating their workflow. In this short timeframe, Presto has already delivered outstanding results, offering faster extraction times and superior recovery and background compared to other options previously tested. CET now plans to continue their development with the Presto for EPA Method 625 and DRO/ETPH, as they further automate and enhance their extraction capabilities.
We’d like to extend a special thank you to our dedicated support chemist, Aigerim, for her exceptional work during the onsite installation. We look forward to building on this successful collaboration with CET and supporting their continued growth and development.
