Inside DNREC Lab: Protecting Water Quality in a Historic Community

Our team recently visited the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) PFAS laboratory to support ongoing water testing efforts that protect Delaware’s water resources and monitor contaminants impacting community water safety across the state.

The laboratory currently operates four SPE-03 systems and recently expanded its workflow to support semi-volatile organic compound (SVOCs) analysis. DNREC continues to strengthen its analytical capacity for monitoring a broad range of contaminants.

During the visit, installation and training were completed on a new Presto system, along with method development for EPA 525/DRO and EPA 625/8270. The on-site work was led by our Support Chemist Andrew Ferguson who worked closely with the DNREC laboratory team to ensure a smooth implementation. PromoChrom Mini-disks were also used for both methods, with 525 and BNA formats selected based on analytical requirements.

We thank the DNREC team for their collaboration and continued trust in PromoChrom’s solutions to help protect their community’s water resources. PromoChrom remains committed to supporting laboratories in meeting evolving water testing challenges with confidence and reliability.
