Inside DNREC Lab: Protecting Water Quality in a Historic Community

Ultrashort chain PFAS are increasingly detected in environmental and food samples but remain challenging to extract and analyze.

This study, presented at NEWMOA, highlights an automated SPE workflow using the SPE-03 system with Aquaris® PFAS WAX cartridges for simultaneous extraction of 60+ PFAS compounds across multiple sample matrices

Study Highlights:

– Co-extraction of ultrashort and long-chain PFAS in a single run

– High recoveries for ultrashort chain PFAS (>90%)

– Results within EPA Method 1633 QC limits

– Applicable across drinking water, river water, and food matrices

This approach demonstrates a practical and consistent workflow for handling diverse PFAS sample types.

If you’re evaluating PFAS workflows, Aquaris® cartridges are optimized and recommended for SPE-03 systems.
