Introducing the Latest SPE-03

The SPE-03 8-channel system is one of our earliest products and has helped many end users around the world speed up their sample preparation process. It is most widely used on large volume water samples and can also clean up food, soil and forensic samples. Applications that are sensitive to PTFE/Teflon such as the analysis of PFAAs can benefit from our minimal-teflon option where we replace all Teflon moving parts with PEEK and Polyethylene. This option is available at no extra cost.
New Touchscreen Controller
We have replaced the button interface with a 4.3" resistive touch screen that works even in wet conditions. The larger display is easier to interact with and can display more lines of each method. Compared to only 3 methods and 12 lines per method in its predecessor, the new controller can now save 100 methods with 100 lines per method.
Versatile Sample Rack
To make it easier for loading various types of samples, we added an adjustable sample rack with luer connectors. Large sample bottles can be easily connected through our provided adapter tubing. Smaller samples can be directly loaded onto the included 12mL or 20mL sample tubes. The adjustable sample rack provides:
- Open access to the SPE columns at the back
- Clearance for filling up sample tubes
- Tubing adjustment for different sample bottle heights
Optional Rack for Large Sample Bottles
The new MOD-004 rack can hold up to four sample bottles using its common GL45 threaded adapter. Sizes up to 1L can be mounted. Bottles are mounted upside down to maximize sample recovery. The adapters are also compatible with SPE columns for controlled vacuum sample loading and two-column-in-series configurations.
Separate Waste Outlets
SPE-03 now comes with two waste outlets by default, one for sample waste and the other for solvent waste. This makes it more convenient for labs that need to dispose of organic waste separately. This feature is customizable.
The new SPE-03 can mix 2 solvents at specified ratios for solvent blending and stepped gradient elution.

Analytica 2018 had been a great success. Not only did we reach out to new customers but also met up with many of our existing partners to discuss strategies and new product features. Many were able to see the potential of our SPE-04 online SPE with its two-tier approach. The benefits over offline SPE and other online SPEs on the market are significant. Imagine an automated SPE that can do it all for you - prepare sample, derivatize, inject into HPLC, start on next sample... and not be hindered by column blockage or compatibility issues. No wonder it has become our new hot product. For more information, check out our poster or application note on the online SPE-04.
During the show, we also gathered valuable feedback from end users regarding our products. These will be factored in to our upcoming product updates to SPE-01 and SPE-03. Expect improved ergonomics, touch screen interface and new casing design.

We would like to thank all the organizers and participants for a successful tradeshow this year. PromoChrom is now partnered with distributors from many new regions of the world, allowing us to reach even more end users. The new SPE-01 and SPE-04+ attracted a lot of interest with their improved ergonomics, aesthetics and functionality. Several end users who have reached out to us before also had the opportunity to witness our automated SPE systems in person, and became more confident in the process.
The poster on Two-tier Online SPE helped promote awareness of our online SPE-04. The term "Two-tier online SPE" coined by PromoChrom Technologies involves using a 2nd SPE column for sample injection into LC/LC-MS, instead of a conventional sample loop. This retains all the benefits of direct sample loading such as high sensitivity and efficiency while overcoming its challenges such as clogging from dirty samples and SPE to LC column incompatibility. The 2nd SPE column's longevity is also significantly improved with our online SPE-04's back wash feature.
